Picture a Day week 16

Today was William's blessing.  Doesn't he look so cute in his suit?!  My brother Matt did a great job, who would've known that he could speak so eloquently? I definitely did not get that talent.

I love these people!
I had a nice relaxing birthday spending time with the ones I love.
Also, notice the flowers John brought me in the background.  You really can't see much, but they were beautiful.

This is one of Connor's little buddies, Dawson, (or his partner in crime, depending on the day) and this is his "cool" look.  He is definitely too cool for school!
Speaking of school, Connor and his little buddies will all be starting Kindergarten this year and heaven help the teacher if they are in the same class!  These boys are crazy!

Mmmm, Kazookies!
If you have not had the chance to visit The Chocolate, you must.
Thanks Jen for a delicious birthday treat!

I took a few more pictures of my cute nephew today (pictures coming soon) and my mom was my lovely assistant.  This picture just makes me laugh, I love it!

It's official.  I am a soccer mom.  Didn't think I would ever be one, but I caved in to peer pressure.  All of Connor's buddies were doing it, so we just had to right?  This is one of the few pictures I took of Connor in the action. As of now, he kind of likes to hang back a bit. He usually kicks it once, then he thinks he is done.  Last week was actually his first game, but John and I weren't able to make it.  My mom took him and I guess they got slaughtered 20+ to 0.  When I asked Connor how it went he said, "I don't want to tell you."  I said, "Why?"  "Because I didn't score."  I tried to explain about how sports are supposed to be fun and winning doesn't matter but when I told him he had another game, he said, "Oh, I don't want to play the games, just the practice."  Luckily he didn't push that issue and he went to the game.  They scored a couple this game so I think he liked that a little better.

After Connor's soccer game, my brother Mitch took our kids (thanks a bunch!) and John and I headed up to Park City for a night away.  It was a little adventurous trying to find the condo we were staying in, it was a little like a treasure hunt around Park City.  John got this condo rental through a trade and we were supposed to go to a drop box to get the key because they were closed by the time we got there.  Well, with the key was a map to a different location and then we read parts wrong and anyway, we found it in the end.  But on to the picture.  We ate here for breakfast the next day and I highly recommend.  It was delicious!

Hannah's Graduation

It's been a while since I was down at BYU, but we had the opportunity to go for John's niece's graduation.  Wow, it has changed a lot!  Anyway, we are so proud of Hannah and wish her and her new husband Alex the best of luck!

Watch out for this guy, he is going to be the next Michael Buble

After the graduation, we headed to the Cheesecake factory in Salt Lake.  It's quite popular!  We had a 2 hour wait, which means we didn't sit down until 10:30 pm!  But those Buffalo Blasts were worth the wait!  I think I am still recovering from the late night.  When did I get so old?

Gardens

Here are just a few of  my favorite shots from the tulip festival.

My little sister Marie was a good model for me today.

Grandma bought Connor some cotton candy and he decided to wear some of it.

This is pretty much how their relationship is.  Connor touching and Jordan screaming.
Jordan has no concept of gravity.  She loves to climb and is getting pretty good at it.
And we had the privileged of meeting a garter snake.  Not the prettiest snake, but still cool!

Picture a Day week 15

Sun, April 15

It happened.  I forgot.
But can I just say, I was working on pictures all day.  I got a new editing program, Lightroom 4, and I was trying to figure it all out.  In the process, I managed to delete a few pictures.  Thankfully I backed them up on another hard drive.  I was also updating my blog and we had family in town.  Is that a good enough excuse?

This is me with my cousin Jon and brother Mitch.  Jon just graduated to be a Black Hawk pilot.  Ya, those are the big military helicopters.  Jon and I grew up together and he is like a brother to me and I am so proud of him.  He came home for some R&R before he starts working and as always, it was really good to see him.

John's mom, sister, and brother in law came out this weekend and every time they do, there has to be some game playing.  This game was Sour Apples to Apples.  It was really fun, I recommend it.

While John's mom was in town, she stayed with us for a few days so John could torture, uh, I mean help her with some dental work. (It is a little funny that I am such a dental-phobe, yet I am married to a dentist!) Anyway, while she was here, we went to the new City Creek Center downtown to check out the shops and the water fountains.  It is really beautiful.

The next day, I took my mother-in-law to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point.  Hopefully I will have time to post the rest of the pictures I took.  I had a lot of fun taking pictures there.

So, John's family all came out for John's niece, Hannah's BYU graduation.  Normally I would put a picture of the graduate, but that will come later.  This was my favorite picture of the day.  John with Hannah's new husband Alex.  He fits in well with this family.  I hope he takes that as a compliment.

I got a birthday package from my good friend Pam. She found this beautiful necklace and scarf in Spain (I know, hard life right?) and I absolutely love them.  She always throws in a bunch of yummy German chocolates and treats too.  I am not sure if she means for me to share them, but I don't.  They are yummy and they are mine.  I am excited for her to come back to the states, but I am sure going to miss all the yummyness she has sent my way!

First Haircut

As you may have noticed, Jordan has been sporting a very nice mullet.  Well, that ended last week.  She was so cute in that big chair and did so well.  Thanks Jenny.  It looks great.
(If anyone is looking for a hair person, I have a good one!)

We had some serious fun at the park today.  So there was this seat that was tilted slightly and spun around once you sat on it.  Well, the momentum really picked up with Connor and her fell backwards and kept spinning.  He thought it was great, well until he flew off.

More projects.  Very tired.  This was at the bottom of our bed as I dragged myself in bed.

Wed, April 11

One of our projects this week.  I forgot the before, but it was white and boring.

Thurs, April 12

I know, this is more than ONE picture a day, but it was John's birthday and I wanted to put 3.
We took the kids to Trafalga and forgot that it was spring break, so it was full of Jr High kids.  Anyway, the kids got to rock climb and we went mini-golfing in the dark.  Sydney has no fear of heights.  Connor on the other hand got a little way up, looked down and thought that was good enough.  John and I went out to our favorite restaurant the next day night to celebrate the "adult" way.  Birthdays are just more fun as a kid I've decided.

Fri, April 13

Our second project of the week.  The bathroom.  We painted it and then I found these cute "things" (not sure what to call them) for the kids towels.  I kind of love them.

Sat, April 14

This is my good friend Jen.  We have been friends since Jr High. We had a fun day shopping in Park City.  She made me spend too much.  She would probably say the same about me. I also thought I would give Instagram a try.  Still undecided about it.
