Mon, Sept 24
281/366
We totally saw a turtle while snorkeling!  Thanks to Kyle and Amy for finding it.  It was awesome!  If you ever go snorkeling, get an underwater camera, it was great being able to take these shots.  We even got video so we can relive it with our kids.

Picture a Day week 37

Sun, Sept 16
 273/366
Since Connor's real birthday was so crazy, we had everyone over on Sunday for cake and ice cream.  He really wanted a Batman cake, so here is his Bat signal on top of a Mint Chocolate Chip Cake that he chose.

Mon, Sept 17
 274/366
Spent the day getting ready for a big trip to Hawaii.  My good friend Jen let me borrow her camera and underwater camera shell for all the snorkeling we plan on doing.

Tues, Sept 18
275/366
This was Connor's second to last game, but the last one we could go to.  I am glad I finally got a good enough shot to show how much he likes it.  He actually made his first goal during this season.  He was very excited!

Wed, Sept 19
276/366
We are on the plane ready to go to Hawaii!

Thurs, Sept 20
 277/366
I don't know how I am going to only choose 1 picture a day from Hawaii, so today I did 2, since I obviously didn't take the first one.  This was at breakfast.  That was our open view from our table.  The trip started out great!

Fri, Sept 21
 278/366
We visited the Hawaii Temple and the Polynesian Cultural Center this day.  So gorgeous!  I wish we had more time to spend at the PCC, but if you are short on time, definitely see the show at night!  It was one of my favorite things!

Sat, Sept 22
 279/366
This was the view from the entrance to our resort.  We stayed at the Aulani Disney Resort.  So Gorgeous!  That is the ocean way in the back.  The big rock formation in the middle had 2 water slides in it and you might be able to see the lazy river running through the middle.  There was also a sting ray pool, a snorkeling pool, hot tubs, a swimming pool, and a kid splash area.  Thanks again to my mother in law for making this possible!

Tues, Sept 11
268/366
Connor needed a picture of his pet for a book he was making at school.

Wed, Sept 12
 269/366
Happy Birthday Handsome! He's making me old too!  This day was a bit crazy with school, homework, dance, and dad working late, so John took him to the arcade while Sydney was at Dance.  Connor thought that was best thing ever!  Then we just did a quick cake (Peanut Butter Cake with Salted Caramel Glaze- seriously, my new favorite!) and presents right before bed.

Thurs, Sept 13
 270/366
John was so excited to finally get Lego's for Connor's birthday.  When Connor turned 1 he started asking if he could buy them for him yet.  Connor is now interested.  John was the kid in a candy store.  It was funny.  They spent the next day putting this together.

Fri, Sept 14
271/366
The joys of childhood!

Sat, Sept 15
272/366
I was lucky enough to take some senior portraits today.  I just love the violin!

Picture a Day week 35

Sun, Sept 2
 259/366
John was gone this weekend, so I had to give Hurley a bath.  He obviously needed it!  This is the tub after.

Mon, Sept 3

260/366
(John took these, I forgot)
John, Mitch and a friend, Chris, decided to hikes Kings Peak over the weekend.  That meant hiking in 9 miles to their campsite, hiking 12 miles to the top and back the next day, then on the last day hiking all their gear back down.  That picture was on the first day.  I wish I had one of the last day; they weren't smiling so big.  Ya, I don't think their bodies were quite prepared for it.  There was also a nice hail and lightning storm when they were almost to the top. Scary!  I am just glad they made it home alive, even if John was limping for the next few days and Mitch had a nice gash from his new knife and Chris had layers of skin rubbed off his back... ya, just glad they were alive!

 Tues, Sept 4
261/366
Okay, so I forgot again.  So I added this picture of Jordan devouring her ice cream at our new favorite restaurant on Saturday.  I think this was her second ice cream.

Wed, Sept 5

More soccer.  This is Connor's buddy Parker going in.

Sat, Sept 1
258/366
We're in trouble.

Family Pictures

So, here it is, my trick to get a whole family to smile for a family photo:  1) set your camera on a tripod because you as the photographer also need to be in the picture.  2) Take a couple minutes to get all of your setting correct while everyone in the family (most of which hate getting their picture taken) waits for you.  3) set the timer on your camera so that you have a good 8 seconds to run and get in the picture. 4) Press the shutter button.  5) Trip over the tripod as you try to run into your spot and make sure you face plant it.  6)  Keep your face in the grass as you hear your camera fall to the ground.  7)  Stand up and try it again, hopefully avoiding step 5!
(No camera was hurt in the making of these pictures, thankfully!)
