Gardens

Here are just a few of  my favorite shots from the tulip festival.

My little sister Marie was a good model for me today.

Grandma bought Connor some cotton candy and he decided to wear some of it.

This is pretty much how their relationship is.  Connor touching and Jordan screaming.
Jordan has no concept of gravity.  She loves to climb and is getting pretty good at it.
And we had the privileged of meeting a garter snake.  Not the prettiest snake, but still cool!

Picture a Day week 15

Sun, April 15

It happened.  I forgot.
But can I just say, I was working on pictures all day.  I got a new editing program, Lightroom 4, and I was trying to figure it all out.  In the process, I managed to delete a few pictures.  Thankfully I backed them up on another hard drive.  I was also updating my blog and we had family in town.  Is that a good enough excuse?

This is me with my cousin Jon and brother Mitch.  Jon just graduated to be a Black Hawk pilot.  Ya, those are the big military helicopters.  Jon and I grew up together and he is like a brother to me and I am so proud of him.  He came home for some R&R before he starts working and as always, it was really good to see him.

John's mom, sister, and brother in law came out this weekend and every time they do, there has to be some game playing.  This game was Sour Apples to Apples.  It was really fun, I recommend it.

While John's mom was in town, she stayed with us for a few days so John could torture, uh, I mean help her with some dental work. (It is a little funny that I am such a dental-phobe, yet I am married to a dentist!) Anyway, while she was here, we went to the new City Creek Center downtown to check out the shops and the water fountains.  It is really beautiful.

The next day, I took my mother-in-law to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point.  Hopefully I will have time to post the rest of the pictures I took.  I had a lot of fun taking pictures there.

So, John's family all came out for John's niece, Hannah's BYU graduation.  Normally I would put a picture of the graduate, but that will come later.  This was my favorite picture of the day.  John with Hannah's new husband Alex.  He fits in well with this family.  I hope he takes that as a compliment.

I got a birthday package from my good friend Pam. She found this beautiful necklace and scarf in Spain (I know, hard life right?) and I absolutely love them.  She always throws in a bunch of yummy German chocolates and treats too.  I am not sure if she means for me to share them, but I don't.  They are yummy and they are mine.  I am excited for her to come back to the states, but I am sure going to miss all the yummyness she has sent my way!

First Haircut

As you may have noticed, Jordan has been sporting a very nice mullet.  Well, that ended last week.  She was so cute in that big chair and did so well.  Thanks Jenny.  It looks great.
(If anyone is looking for a hair person, I have a good one!)

We had some serious fun at the park today.  So there was this seat that was tilted slightly and spun around once you sat on it.  Well, the momentum really picked up with Connor and her fell backwards and kept spinning.  He thought it was great, well until he flew off.

More projects.  Very tired.  This was at the bottom of our bed as I dragged myself in bed.

One of our projects this week.  I forgot the before, but it was white and boring.

I know, this is more than ONE picture a day, but it was John's birthday and I wanted to put 3.
We took the kids to Trafalga and forgot that it was spring break, so it was full of Jr High kids.  Anyway, the kids got to rock climb and we went mini-golfing in the dark.  Sydney has no fear of heights.  Connor on the other hand got a little way up, looked down and thought that was good enough.  John and I went out to our favorite restaurant the next day night to celebrate the "adult" way.  Birthdays are just more fun as a kid I've decided.

Our second project of the week.  The bathroom.  We painted it and then I found these cute "things" (not sure what to call them) for the kids towels.  I kind of love them.

This is my good friend Jen.  We have been friends since Jr High. We had a fun day shopping in Park City.  She made me spend too much.  She would probably say the same about me. I also thought I would give Instagram a try.  Still undecided about it.

Easter

The day before Easter, we all headed to my moms for some good food and Easter fun.  My mom's  house is getting a little crowded when we all get together and it is awesome!  It was fun to be with everyone, even though Jordan had her first ear infections through it all.  But hey, there was candy so all sickness was forgotten for a few minutes.

Easter Egg Hunt

I guess I need to be in a few pictures every once in a while.
(I should've ran while I had him! He's getting too big to hide under my coat!)

Note to self:  Don't buy so much candy!!  You can say no to the Reese's eggs!

It was General Conference today and I will have to say that I really enjoyed this one.  This is a picture of our dear prophet, Thomas S. Monson that was taken from my TV.  I really love this man.  I know he is God's Prophet on this earth.  He is so kind and loving and really makes you want to be kinder to everyone.  My little claim to fame: he was actually my grandpa's mission president in Canada.  He has talked of my grandpa a few times.  My grandpa was the Elder Davidson that he talks about in this talk in the New Era Magazine.  What an honor it would be to meet this wonderful man!

This is my little raspberry bush.  So cute.  So alive.  Lets just hope I can keep it that way.

These are my cute Activity Days Girls.  We had some fun doing an Easter Egg hunt, but not an ordinary Easter Egg Hunt.  It was a hunt for the meaning of Easter.  I got this idea from a friend, but you have 12 eggs, each with a scripture and an object to tell them about the last days that Christ was upon the Earth.  If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to post all the info.

Sydney had her Science Fair today and did such a good job.  I am so proud of how she was able to talk into the microphone and talk about our experiment.  Sometimes she acts so shy, but I think she has it in her to forget about being shy and enjoy being front and center.   She also did such a good job on her board.  She did most of the work (I helped her hold the stencils and cut some of the papers out) and she came up with a creative title too.
Here is a better picture of her board:

Another "Daddy's Girl" post. I took the kids into the office to get their teeth cleaned and of course John was busy with a patient so we just walked by.  Well, miss Jordan didn't think that was good enough and started screaming for daddy.  I took her into the bathroom and she continued to yell "Daddy!"  It was kind of funny.  Finally Daddy was done and came out to say hi.  That stopped the screaming instantly.

The kids were out of school today but it was freezing outside and Jordan got sick, so I really didn't want to go anywhere.  So I stole some ideas from Pinterest and let them create a city in the living room and make animals out of marshmallows for their zoo .  I really think Pinterest makes me a better mom :) (does anyone really believe that?)

We went over to my moms for dinner and an Easter egg hunt.  I love being with my family and it has been so fun seeing it grow.  We already got one new one this year and in June we will have another.  I am so excited!  (Even more so because they are not from my body!)  This little William is just so perfect and he looked so cute cuddled with my mom, I just couldn't pass this picture up.  More Easter pictures to come!
