Easter

The day before Easter, we all headed to my moms for some good food and Easter fun.  My mom's  house is getting a little crowded when we all get together and it is awesome!  It was fun to be with everyone, even though Jordan had her first ear infections through it all.  But hey, there was candy so all sickness was forgotten for a few minutes.

Easter Egg Hunt

I guess I need to be in a few pictures every once in a while.
(I should've ran while I had him! He's getting too big to hide under my coat!)

Note to self:  Don't buy so much candy!!  You can say no to the Reese's eggs!

It was General Conference today and I will have to say that I really enjoyed this one.  This is a picture of our dear prophet, Thomas S. Monson that was taken from my TV.  I really love this man.  I know he is God's Prophet on this earth.  He is so kind and loving and really makes you want to be kinder to everyone.  My little claim to fame: he was actually my grandpa's mission president in Canada.  He has talked of my grandpa a few times.  My grandpa was the Elder Davidson that he talks about in this talk in the New Era Magazine.  What an honor it would be to meet this wonderful man!

This is my little raspberry bush.  So cute.  So alive.  Lets just hope I can keep it that way.

These are my cute Activity Days Girls.  We had some fun doing an Easter Egg hunt, but not an ordinary Easter Egg Hunt.  It was a hunt for the meaning of Easter.  I got this idea from a friend, but you have 12 eggs, each with a scripture and an object to tell them about the last days that Christ was upon the Earth.  If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to post all the info.

Sydney had her Science Fair today and did such a good job.  I am so proud of how she was able to talk into the microphone and talk about our experiment.  Sometimes she acts so shy, but I think she has it in her to forget about being shy and enjoy being front and center.   She also did such a good job on her board.  She did most of the work (I helped her hold the stencils and cut some of the papers out) and she came up with a creative title too.
Here is a better picture of her board:

Another "Daddy's Girl" post. I took the kids into the office to get their teeth cleaned and of course John was busy with a patient so we just walked by.  Well, miss Jordan didn't think that was good enough and started screaming for daddy.  I took her into the bathroom and she continued to yell "Daddy!"  It was kind of funny.  Finally Daddy was done and came out to say hi.  That stopped the screaming instantly.

The kids were out of school today but it was freezing outside and Jordan got sick, so I really didn't want to go anywhere.  So I stole some ideas from Pinterest and let them create a city in the living room and make animals out of marshmallows for their zoo .  I really think Pinterest makes me a better mom :) (does anyone really believe that?)

We went over to my moms for dinner and an Easter egg hunt.  I love being with my family and it has been so fun seeing it grow.  We already got one new one this year and in June we will have another.  I am so excited!  (Even more so because they are not from my body!)  This little William is just so perfect and he looked so cute cuddled with my mom, I just couldn't pass this picture up.  More Easter pictures to come!

This is little Miss D.  A few of us got together to sew and we put all the kids on the floor to eat their lunches.  She was the only one who would look at me and I just loved this look of, "hey, I'm eating here."

It was late, I almost forgot to take a picture, so I quickly took one with my iPhone.  This is on my shelf by my bed.  I saw this figurine and just had to buy this for my best good friend. The great thing was the she bought me the same one.  Miss you Pam.

We spent the day doing yard work and Jordan helped a lot by eating the dirt, hence the mustache.
Jordan has really turned into a Daddy's Girl lately and I think it is so precious (except the part where she started hitting me). I forgot to mention this last week, but when we dropped John off at the airport and started to drive away, Jordan let out a couple sad, questioning "daddy?"s.  It was too cute to forget.  Also, the other day, Connor went over on the couch and laid by John on the couch while we were watching TV.  Jordan, who was sitting with me, instantly burst into tears and started crying, "daddy!".  She soon got off my lap and ran to dad.  I guess we also need to teach her how to share.

I really don't like yard work, so I am not sure why I am doing this, but here is the beginnings of our garden.  Tomatoes, peppers and a few flowers that Sydney picked out.  If they actually grow, I will be amazed.  Have I mentioned that I have killed a cactus before?

Jordan loves animals.  This is Azure, my brother's dog.  He spent the next 5 minutes kissing her all over her face, and she loved every minute!

Connor had a field trip today with his preschool to the Aquarium.  I just love the look on Chase's face!

I made fruit leather today.  I found the recipe here.  It was okay.  I like the ones at Target better :)

John had an ortho seminar in Sacramento this weekend, so we put together a little gift box for him.  I thought it would be fun to get pictures of the kids with this sign, but the process of getting Jordan to hold up her part was so funny that I had to do some of them.
On a side note, I have said before that moms should leave for a weekend just so their families will see everything they do and then appreciate them a little bit more.  Well, now I can say the same for dads.  I didn't realize how much I look forward to his coming home at the end of the day so I can have a friend to talk to.  Or how willing he is to get up in the middle of the night when things go wrong, like a battery goes out in the fire alarm (perfect timing!)  I am so thankful that John does not have a job where he has to travel a lot.

We went to Gardner Village with some friends today because the weather has been amazing!  I thought I would take a few snapshots of my cute little (not so much any more) baby.

Sweet Baby Will

So, I think this is one of the most perfect little babies.  I absolutely love this little guy.  It was so fun taking his pictures, he was such a good boy.  I loved getting their dog, Azure in the shots too.  He was so weary of me and didn't seem to like the fact that this little baby, whom he was not allowed to touch, was laying on top of him.  Thanks Jodi for letting me come into your home with  my crazy kids.

So, we were at Kohl's buying a vacuum (finally we got one that "should" last us more than a year) and as we were heading toward the door, John's eyes lit up like a kid in a candy store, or I guess I should say in an arcade. This is an icade and it plays all the "vintage" (John doesn't like "old") games that John grew up with.  My favorite part of the night was when John told the kids about PacMan and they had no idea what he was talking about.  I thought John was going to have a heart-attack.
 I laughed a little.

It was my mom's and aunt's Birthday (they are twins), so we went out to lunch.  Some of my other aunts came as well and it was good to get together. Later that night, I made a cinnamon cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting for my mom.  Can I just say, "YUM!"  I was watching my cousin's kids too so I brought them with me and this little Mya thought my mom was her grandma.  I had to laugh because she didn't want anything to do with me because "grandma" was there.  But every once in a while Mya would just stare at my mom's glasses and her braces with a very confused look because her grandma doesn't have either one.

I don't know why these little guys make me so happy every year because I really don't like yard work, but they really do make me smile (even though the ones across the street are already in full bloom...).

Another fabulous zoo day!
This is my cute little friend Dixie.  Seriously, I love those eyes.  I kind of stalked her at the zoo and I hope she didn't mind, but I just had to get pictures of her, she's too cute!

I love shoes, and I love it when kids love shoes!  I have a picture of me when I was little wearing my dad's shoes and I was going to scan it in, but I am quite comfy in this chair, so maybe later...

I made this necklace for mom for her birthday.  Well, okay Sydney did all of the beading, but anyway, I followed this tutorial.
