Happy Fathers Day!

John really likes breakfast, but I don't make it very often.  On Father's Day I always try to make him a nice breakfast.  Because I love him!  Thanks Byron for this one!

Blueberry Baked French Toast with Pecans

Ingredients:

24" baguette

6 large eggs

3 cups milk

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp vanilla

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 cup pecans

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 cups blueberries

Instructions:

Butter a 9 x 12 inch pan or spray thoroughly.  Cut bread into 20-1 inch slices and arrange in pan.  In a large bowl, beat eggs, milk, nutmeg, vanilla, 3/4 cup brown sugar and pour over bread.  Cover with foil and chill overnight or at least 8 hours.  Then toast pecans at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes.  Toss in pan with 1 tsp. butter and salt to taste.  Sprinkle over bread.  Spread blueberries over the top.  Melt the butter and 1/4 cup brown sugar together and drizzle over the top.  Cover with foil.  Bake at 350 degrees F for 30  minutes, remove foil and finish baking for 15 minutes or until liquid from berries is bubbly.  Serve with syrup.

We all went to the office today to help John put up a TV in the waiting area and got a little distracted!  We had to wait for the drill to charge,  so I started looking in all the cabinets for something to do and found glitter tattoos.  Now before you start questioning what John and his staff does when there are no patients, I should tell you that he had those because they used them at a city fair they were a part of last year.  (Although, John did get his "sparkly" on when Sydney talked him into a nice dragon tattoo. Should've gotten a picture!) Jordan had most of hers peeled off before the picture though. It was a butterfly.

We had some friends over to play in the sprinklers and make these fun candy necklace.  Just a note, chocolate cookies are not a good idea unless you like chocolate all over your neck!

T-Ball has started.  Connor is getting pretty good at hitting the ball when the coach pitches it to him, so he doesn't need to Tee so much.

My little buddy (nephew) is getting so big!  Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks!
