Let's give this another try!

So, I love looking back at all the fun things we did with Sydney and Connor as a baby and I realized that I won't have that for Jordan and Caleb unless I start this blog up again. So, here are a few pictures from our first week in 2015. 

John had to chaperone the youth dance for New Years but made it back in time to watch the ball drop. I had to laugh when the ball dropped and Connor said, "that's it?"  Yep. Now let's go to bed!  Caleb didn't make it but the other kids thought it was pretty cool to stay up so late. 

Then, of course we had to get out and enjoy the snow!

Caleb was not happy that I stopped. He loved it! He reminds me a lot of Sydney when she was little. She was so willing to try anything. 

Week 2: Cold

What a week for this!  I have been having deja vous the last 2 weeks of when we lived in Milwaukee!  You know, the kind of cold that just hurts! Anyway, on to our pictures...

Sydney's:

The cold is always so much more fun as a kid! 

Thanks to Pinterest, we tried a new experiment. We froze bubbles.  Ya, I think it was like 5 degrees or something that night.

Week 1: Newness

Sydney's

These are a set of new books that Sydney is really enjoying right now.  She got the first one for Christmas and ended up getting the next 2 from the library.   Oh, and we can't forget her new hair flower she got from her cute little 3 year old friend.

Mine

I am so excited to start this new project with this cute new photographer.  It will be fun to see what this year brings.  Sydney is 100 times more creative than me so I hope this helps her expand that creativeness and help me grow too.

New Photo Project 2013

Okay, who is ready to do a photography challenge this year?  Sydney got a camera for Christmas and we thought it would be fun to do a project together this year.  The 365 project proved to be a bit much, so we found something a little more manageable.  We are going to do a 52 week themed project.  Each week will have a new theme and we will be taking at least one picture each on what we think that theme means.  I combined a few lists and formed one of my own.  I will post both Sydney's picture and mine on the Sunday at the end of every week (hopefully, it is time to set goals right?).  If you would like to participate  let me know and we would love to see your interpretations too.  If I don't already know your blog, send it to me please!

 Happy New Year!  I guess technically this is on Jan 1 because this is our midnight toast.  I think this little girl had 3 glasses of sparkling cider.  I know, I should've cut her off, but it was a party!  We had some friends over and I hope everyone had as much fun as I did!

Well, it is over and I failed pretty bad, especially towards the end, but I had fun and I learned a lot.  I don't think I could do that again, it burnt me out a bit, but Sydney and I are going to do a different photo challenge for 2013, so stay tuned and maybe you could join us!

I helped with Connor's class Christmas party today.  This is Connor's concentrating look.

Elementary School program.  Usually they get the whole school together in the gym and the different grades take turns singing their Christmas song, but because of the idiot who shot up the elementary school last week, they didn't want all the kids in the gym at the same time.  It was still fun to see them sing though.
Also, not his hair do.  I have been letting him do his hair lately because, well, let's face it, I never did it anyway.  He calls this the "dino spike."  He makes me smile, a lot!

 Some good friends of ours invited us to their house to make Gingerbread/Graham Crackers houses.  It was a lot of fun!  This is the one me and Jordan made.  Like my sour patch kid sledding?

Didn't work, but went and saw The Hobbit in 3D.  Loved the movie, didn't love the 3D.  I know we are nerds, but we may have to go see it again without the 3D because it was so distracting for me.

We had our annual Santa party at my aunts house and I loved it!  This is my second cousin sporting the Rudolph nose while we all sang. I love Christmas time, especially when surrounded by kids!

 We went to see the Zoolights.  It was pretty neat!

So, the front office lady at John's office left us yesterday (meaning she snuck out after she got her check and left a note saying she wasn't coming back) so I started filling in.  It is crazy, so my pictures took a back seat and I missed quite a few more day.

 Jordan had a rough day today.  Earlier in the day, she was playing at a friends house and her little friend painted her with lipstick.  It took about 6 washes for it to not look greasy any more. Then later that night she was playing tug of war with Hurley and he jumped up on her, knocking her into the fireplace.  Her wound for that is pictured here.  Then, not an hour later, she fell down the stairs to the garage head first.  She put her front tooth through her bottom lip.  She sat on the couch the rest of the day.

It was crazy hair day at school today.  Even Jordan got a little pink and purple in her hair thanks to our friend Sara.  Then after we went to Gardner Village to show the elves how cool we looked.

John went to Sacrament for his last Ortho class and so after I put the kids to bed, I enjoyed the silence by photographing my tree.  I was so happy to get the star flare on the lights.
