Picture a Day Week 5

Sun, Jan 29

My little sister stayed with us for the weekend and that girl can read!  I am pretty sure she has read more books then I ever will my entire life and she is only 9.  Over the weekend, I saw at least 3 books lying around the house like this at one time.  Yes, she reads more than one book at a time.

Cheap masks from a party store provides lots of entertainment!
Tues, Jan 31

Why do telephoto lenses have to be so stinkin' expensive?  This hawk looked so cool on top of that ugly tree, but I couldn't capture it the way I wanted to.

Wed, Feb 1

I have a new nephew!  He ended up in the NICU so I wasn't able to get any pictures of him so I took a picture of the onsies I made for him and a T-shirt for his big brother.  Oh, I can't wait to hold and snuggle that little guy!

Thurs, Feb 2

Just one of those moments.
Love these two!

Fri, Feb 3

Sydney wanted to use the sewing machine, so I found this fun project on Pinterest.  It involves a little bit of sewing with the machine, and a little bit by hand.  Yes, some are upside down.  I forgot to tell her to string them up by the top.
PS. Love her pose!

I kind of love to eat, so you may see lots of pictures of food over the year.  But hey, you can enjoy it too:
Zucchini Cake
1 1/2 c Sugar
1 c Oil
3 eggs
Mix for 4 minutes then add:
2 c Flour
1 tsp Soda
1 tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Cinnamon
Than fold in:
2 c Shredded Zucchini
1 tsp Vanilla
Bake in a greased Bunt cake pan at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes.

Baby Owen

My friend Amanda had a cute little baby boy and she was kind enough to let me intrude her home and take pictures of this little guy.  He wasn't very happy most of the time, which was totally fine with me because that just meant I got to snuggle him lots. He was happy then.

Picture a Day Week 4

Sun. January 22

We had ward conference and the Stake Presidency spoke to us.  I was very inspired by what we heard and one thing stood out to me.  It has been fairly easy to remember to take a picture every day so far (we'll see how it is in June) but I haven't made time to read my scriptures everyday.  My priorities seemed a little off, so I am setting new goals today.  I think I have time to do both every single day.

Mon. January 23

I have been so lucky to have my little nephew over quite a bit lately and I love it!  So does Connor.

Started a project today and I turned my back for 2 seconds and came back to find this.  She seems to have no fear and I am not sure if that is a good thing yet!  And just take a look at that mischievous smile!

Thurs. January 26

My friend had a cute little baby boy and I begged her to let me take pictures.  He was just too cute and I had a lot of fun.

Fri. January 27

Worked on painting my front room and I did it all by myself!

Sat. January 28

My beautiful Sydney had her dance recital today.  As a child, I never understood why my mom would always cry when I would dance.  Well, today I understand.  I was so stinking proud of my skinny little dancer!

These are my kitchen chairs that I reupholstered.  They had a tan vinyl on them, but they started to rip and Jordan found it fun to continue to rip and pull it off.  So I found this beauty of a fabric.
Mon, Jan 16

No school today so I let the  kids pick what they wanted to do.  Connor wanted to read about spiders on the internet (which of course means pictures, yuck!) and Sydney wanted to make cookies, and of course we had to try a few in her new Easy Bake Oven.  I found the best Snickerdoodle recipe here!

Tuesday, Jan 17

Yes, I let them jump on my bed.  Hopefully it will be a one time occurrence but I had to play with the shutter speed today.

Picture a Day week 2

8/366
I'm pretty sure it was!

 9/366
Pam gave us a challenge this week of "Thinking Up" so here is my version.  Next time I need to use the tripod because the moon was so clear and I just couldn't hold still enough to show that.

10/366
Our dog Hurley after a bad hair cut.  No it was not done with the lawn mower.

11/366
Another "Thinking Up".  Love these mountains

12/366
My good friend Jen had a birthday (I won't say which special one it was) and that was the only candle she had.  Happy Birthday Jen!

13/366
Jordan got in trouble.  I made her clean it up.  She was not happy.
Not only did she toss it everywhere, she also ate a bunch of it.

14/366

My nephew Marshall was definitely "thinking up!"
We were celebrating my dad's Birthday when I came across this face of pure concentration.

New Years Project 366, Picture a Day

So, my best friend Pam decided to do a picture a day project this year and asked me to do it too.  First I thought, "wow, what a commitment. Not sure I can commit to that!"  But then I thought about it a little more and thought it might be fun.  I have wanted to get into photography for quite some time now but always found some reason why "now" was not the right time. Well, John got me a fancy new camera for Christmas so I don't have many more good excuses.  So, let the craziness begin!
 1/366
My daughter got Jenga for Christmas, so we pulled it out on New Years.  She's getting pretty darn good!
2/366
I was lucky enough to go and take the Anderson's family pictures.  I absolutely love Dawne and hope we can do it again sometime! (maybe when it is warmer!)
3/366
This is my nephew Marshall playing in the snow-less dirt.  Love Januaries like this!

  4/366
I just love this because she is saying cheese, or "eeee" and she says it just like her older sister did it.  We have many pictures of Sydney pulling the same cheese face.

5/366
Did I mention I love sunny Januaries?  We went to the Zoo and this is Connor and his buddy Dawson being their regular goofy, but happy, selves!

6/366
I just love those eyes and the only way I could get her to look at  me long enough was to give her her milk, or "mu" as she calls it.

7/366
The snow finally came.  Jordan wanted to play too but mom didn't want to.

Happy New Year

We had a lot of fun this New Years.  We had a few friends over and ate yummy food and played some fun games.  The kids love staying up until midnight.  Not sure I liked it so much the next day!
Hope you all had a good new year too!

Cheers with a little sparkling cider
