Great Self-Esteem Booster

So, ya, had to pull out the maternity pants today. Not to happy about that, but I can't really go in public wearing John's scrubs, so out they came. As I was going to through the cloths (I have a ton thanks to my friend Pam) Connor turns to me and says, "mom, those are humongous!" Ya, feeling pretty good today.

By the way, I am due July 12th. Pretty close to being done with the first trimester, but I sure don't feel like it. Was the third one harder for anyone else? I have felt pretty crappy, definitely worse than the last two. What was I thinking?

?

Little did I know that this post's title would have two meanings. I guess what happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay in Vegas.

Sydney's First Dance Performance

I was so proud of her! She didn't even look nervous. Sorry about her teacher's head. Hopefully I can get a better one this weekend.

My Christmas Tree

I finally got a good Christmas tree (yes it is fake so some of you may argue the word good). It is prelit and that is what I cared about. I don't know why, but I hate putting the lights on the Christmas Tree. So anyway, I got a really good deal (thanks Jenny) on this tree and I absolutely love it. My favorite part is that it looks pretty real and it has pine cones!
So of course, I had to get a few new decorations too. Oh, it was so fun.
John is not a fan of the top, but I like it. I have been told it looks like a "Hoo" Christmas tree, but "in a good way." I will agree. I love it. (Although, I need to figure out how to get the candy canes to stay, they keep sliding down.)

Have a Happy Holiday season everyone!

Before and After-Fireplace and Closets

It is so nice having our own home! I love the fact that I can change the things I want to change without the fear of losing my security deposit!

My first project before we even moved in was staining the fireplace.
Before:

and after:
We also put in closet organizers. I have an uncle who owns his own business called The Closet Butler. He did an amazing job and so this is my little plug for him. If any of you in the area would like more space, he did a fabulous job and was very quick too. He basically tripled the storage space we have! We did the master closet, both kid closets, and the hallway. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures with all the stuff in it, but you get the idea.
Master closet Before: (let me tell you, our cloths were squished tight to fit only our shirts and my dresses)
and after: (we now fit all our hanging clothes, pants, shoes, scrubs, and lots more!)
Okay, yes, I was extremely excited about these closets, but hey, it is the little things that make us happy right? (Yes, John laughed at me.)

He missed part of the outfit, but doesn't he look cute!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sydney after her Kindergarten "Feast" (Kindergarten sounds so fun! Can I go back?)

Sydney the Pilgrim
Sydney the Indian

We had a Thanksgiving breakfast with my dad and aunt Deb. Mmm, it was good. I think I like that tradition, it's a keeper!

Then, we went to John's brother's house for Dinner. Oh, I love turkey! It was very good and I actually remembered the pies this year! The unfortunate things was that we were making the pies with my aunt and she forgot to add the sugar. Hmm, oh well. But, my aunt did help me make a fabulous pecan pie! I have not been able to make one that sets, but she had the touch or something because it was good! John's sister also came out from St. Louis and her kids came, but I wasn't very good at taking pictures, so you'll have to imagine. (Does anyone else have that problem? of not taking very many pictures at Thanksgiving?)
