Summer Fun

This winter has been so long! We needed a little summer in our life, so we decided to go to Blue Harbor Resort and pretend it was summer. Well, before we even left the apartment, Connor fell and hit his head on the corner of the wall and gave himself a huge goose egg. Then, as soon as we got to the water park, he decides to fall again. We were walking to a table to put our stuff down and he just slipped and hit his face on the ground. As you can see, he split his lip, scraped his chin and upper lip, and made his nose bleed. So he was kind of a bloody mess (sorry to be graphic) when John picked him up. Luckily his lip wasn't deep enough to need stitches, but he definitely looked like an abused child. So needless to say, he didn't want to play. John and I thought he would love it, but then I realized that he has not been to a pool since he has been able to walk and it wasn't quite as warm as his bath water. We tried to show him how fun it was, but he wasn't buying it. So, with all this torture that we "forced" upon him, all he wanted to do was sit on my lap. I just hope he doesn't associate water parks with trauma.

Sydney had a blast! She is really loving her swimming lessons and is one of the best floaters in her class. Just watch:

Yes, she does have a life jacket on in this video, but last Saturday in her swimming lessons she floated on her back all by herself! She was like a little fish once we put that life jacket on her. It is a really nice change. Before we had her in swimming lessons, she would not let go of me, even if she had a life jacket on. Now we have to remind her to stay where she can see us. We had a lot of fun and it was a good break from the snow and cold.

Now I am jealous that I didn't get to go!

Ooh, sorry about Connor's bumps! Looks like we were having similar vacations. Kind of hard to come back to reality, huh? Especially when reality is hard right now. We'll just pretend we're still swimming.
